About Powerlily

Engineered with the industry's best.

Powerlily is developed in direct partnership with household-name North American solar installers. Every feature, from the shading engine to the proposal builder, is stress-tested before it ships.

Installer-driven product development
Industry Partnerships

Built with installers, not for a marketing deck.

We work directly with solar companies whose crews are on roofs every day. They shape the roadmap, run the software on live deals, and tell us the moment something slows them down. That feedback loop is what makes Powerlily feel different the first time you use it.

  • Product decisions informed by real installer workflows
  • Features validated on active commercial and residential projects
  • Design & proposal flows pressure-tested by real sales teams
  • New capability shipping every week against live customer feedback

Shading Engine

A shading engine that doesn't cut corners.

Most design tools collapse shade into a single coefficient. Powerlily traces rays through your actual 3D scene, trees, chimneys, ridgelines, neighbouring buildings, to resolve direct-beam occlusion, sky-dome visibility, and ground-reflected contribution independently for every panel.

  • Ray-traced direct-beam occlusion against the full 3D scene
  • Sky-dome visibility sampled in every direction, not just south-facing
  • Bifacial ground-reflected component modelled per panel
  • Sun position resolved every 30 minutes across the full year
  • Shade losses attributed between real obstructions and potential (unshaded) irradiance
  • GPU-accelerated so the same analysis that used to take minutes now happens as you draw
Live per-panel production updating as you design
Hourly Simulation

8,760 hours. Per panel. Live.

Every module gets a full year of hourly irradiance, beam, diffuse, and ground-reflected components tracked separately and integrated against Perez sky modelling and weather-normalized datasets. The moment you move a panel, the numbers refresh. There is no 'Calculate' button because there doesn't need to be one.

  • Per-panel, per-hour production. 8,760 data points per module
  • Perez anisotropic sky model with three-component diffuse integration
  • Weather-normalized irradiance from national meteorological datasets
  • Instant recalculation as geometry changes, nothing to queue, nothing to wait for

Scene-accurate shading against real obstructions
Why it matters

More accurate numbers close more deals.

Overstate production and your customer calls you back in year two. Understate it and you lose the deal on the spot. Because Powerlily resolves shading and irradiance against real geometry instead of a simplified model, the production number on your proposal is the number the system will make, and that credibility compounds across every design your team ships.

  • Real obstructions modelled, trees, dormers, vents, adjacent buildings
  • Diffuse sky losses captured alongside beam losses
  • No manual TSRF entry, it's computed from the scene
  • Self-shading resolved row-by-row for ground mounts and commercial arrays
